Rosie O'Donnell Says She Won't Host Price Rosie O'Donnell

Despite a "nice lunch" with producers last week, Rosie O'Donnell says she won't replace Bob Barker as host of The Price is Right.

In a video posted late Sunday on her
Web site, O'Donnell responds to a fan's e-mail asking: "Why is it such a problem that The Price Is Right shoots in L.A? A lot of people move their families because of a new job."

As a stylist takes a curling iron to her hair, O'Donnell says to the camera: "Here's the thing. I don't really need a job. I'm in a weird position. I don't need the money.

Nascar news

BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Hendrick Motorsports may be interested in obtaining Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s car number, but the organization has yet to make an offer to the driver's current team.

"I have no formal proposals from anyone about the No. 8," Max Siegel, president of global operations at Dale Earnhardt Inc., said Sunday at Michigan International Speedway. "If I get one, anything's possible. We'll talk about it. But I have no formal proposals."

Soon, he likely will. Earnhardt expressed a desire to keep his car number on Wednesday, when his impending move to Hendrick was announced. Team owner Rick Hendrick reiterated his interest in acquiring the No. 8 on Sunday before the Citizens Bank 400. But right now, no one seems exactly sure of what it might take to get it.

The Rolling stones spotlight

Biography by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
By the time the Rolling Stones began calling themselves the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the late '60s, they had already staked out an impressive claim on the title. As the self-consciously dangerous alternative to the bouncy Merseybeat of the Beatles in the British Invasion, the Stones had pioneered the gritty, hard-driving blues-based rock & roll that came to define hard rock. With his preening machismo and latent maliciousness, Mick Jagger became the prototypical rock frontman, tempering his macho showmanship with a detached, campy irony while Keith Richards and Brian Jones wrote the blueprint for sinewy, interlocking rhythm guitars. Backed by the strong yet subtly swinging rhythm section of bassist Bill Wyman...To read more click on the title The Rolling stones spotlight.

Hot Artist: Betty Davis spotlight

Hot Artist: Betty Davis

Between glam rock and disco, the '70s saw its share of freaks, but there were few freakier than Betty Davis — think Tina Turner's outré performing flair with a dress sense from Neptune instead of Nutbush. She was one of the few women capable of taming Miles Davis (they were married for a short while, and she reportedly introduced him to Sly Stone as well as Jimi Hendrix), and she recorded three outrageous — and outrageously good — LPs during the mid-'70s before a very surprising, quiet retirement. Now, as Light in the Attic reissues her first two albums, Betty Davis and They Say I'm Different (with remastering, bonus tracks, and liner notes from Oliver Wang), AMG takes the time to spotlight one of the finest and freakiest funk artists in history.

Famous Music State Texas

Famous Music Towns
Music is more than entertainment in Texas. It's a tradition. Many towns and cities have become famous for clubs, events and the nightlife. Check out some of the state's more famous music towns.
Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World." Austin has it all -- blues, country, reggae, jazz, conjunto, Tejano, swing and rock. Music is performed in various clubs along Sixth Street and throughout the city. Annual events include South by Southwest (SXSW) Music, Film and Interactive conferences and festivals in March and the Austin City Limits Music Festival in September.
Dallas' new slogan, "Live Large. Think Big.", describes the essence and vitality of a city built on big dreams, freshly blazed trails and an attitude that all things are possible. The city is home to the State Fair of Texas, held annually in the fall that draws more than 3 million visitors.
Steeped in Western heritage, Fort Worth calls itself the museum capital of the Southwest. Annual events include the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show and Rodeo in late January - early February, Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival in April, Mayfest in May, Texas Frontier Forts Muster in the spring, Fort Worth Symphony's Concerts in Garden in June and July and Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering and Western Swing Festival in October.
As the largest city in Texas, Houston is cosmopolitan with a small-town feel. Annual events include Freedom Over Texas in July and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March, the largest livestock exposition in the world. The Houston International Festival is a 10-day outdoor festival of multicultural music, dance, arts and crafts and food.
Waylon Jennings' song made the name known virtually worldwide. Luckenbach remains as it was -- one unpainted general store that also serves as a beer joint, a traditional rural dance hall and a sometimes-used blacksmith shop. Sunday afternoons are often spontaneous happenings. Banjo pickers, guitar strummers and fiddlers form impromptu groups beneath huge old live oaks.
San Antonio captures the spirit of Texas. Now the eighth largest city in the United States, the city has retained its sense of history and tradition while carefully blending in cosmopolitan progress. Annual events include the Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony in December, the Texas Folklife Festival in June and the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo in mid-February.
